Tyler Harris – job application

I have a level 3 diploma in graphic and game design in which I use and develop skills on almost all of the Adobe suite and some skills in cinema 4D and unity. I have always had a passion for animation whether it was in game cinematic or animated films but learning how they were made and gaining skills to create my own was something I always wanted to do so I think this job is a good fit for me. I love creating different products in different ways by using different animation or texture styles because it gives me some fresh ideas and other ways to go about projects.

I have a high work ethic and very good time management. I also have my own softwares at home so I can keep learning and developing my skills away from the workplace and bring some more creative ideas from different aspects to the job which I feel could benefit the team. I am an independent worker but also very good at working and communicating within a team of people and bounce of each other to improve the work that gets put out in the final piece. I take well to criticism and think it helps me very well. I am an outgoing happy person willing to meet new people and explore different cultures. I am also a very outdoorsy person when the sun is out because I have loved skateboarding in my spare time for a few years now.

Unit 12: Task 3 – Research and explore your focus. — February 6, 2020

Unit 12: Task 3 – Research and explore your focus.

My research is off to a good start because i instantly found a BBC website discussing deepfakes with a video showing how it works and it discusses the pros and cons of the technology. With further research I struggled to find other research on deep fakes apart from news articles mostly saying the same thing and having the same debate of is it beneficial and pros and cons. I did find though that deep fakes have been slightly around since 1990 which i was pretty surprised about but back then the technology was obviously still only starting off compared to where we are today and what they have planned for the future.

When researching the advancing technology used in games I found myself at the start of it all. ‘The first example of players competing on separate screens came in 1973 with “Empire” a strategic turn-based game for up to eight players’, this was game breaking when it launched because you could play online with your friends and conquer the battle grounds but now a days a game that only allows 8 players is considered quite small. A lot of games now can hold up to 100 players in a single game swell as having thousands of different games running around the world. Online games hit the world with storm and many companies and business man saw great potential for sales and the future of this industry and obviously have invested millions into improving the systems and making it more beneficial for families to have gaming consoles even if not necessary for gaming, you may have one juts for the streaming services and other uses. Almost every household nowadays has at least 1 console from whatever company and they are forever changing and making ideas to give the target audience more and more of a reason to get one in your home.Image result for xbox evolution

Image result for evolution of playstation

These are images of playstation and xbox’s through out the years and how they developed to where they are now. As you can easily tell from the images they are all advancing from the big block consoles with wired controllers to having sleek, smaller console and almost everything nowadays is wireless. Its also the same as tv’s and phones. All producers/electronic creators are all aiming to have a simply small design that works perfectly but is not massive and heavy. We know this just from the evolution of phones and tv’s because they used to be huge cinder block looking things but after a few years they got smaller and smaller until we got to where we are now with slim 1 inch tv’s and smart phones that are small and compact with the battery and other electrical parts locked in the back where you cant see it. Its pretty ironic how the consoles and phones get smaller but there power and effect gets better and grows. Games that could only hold maybe 10+ people can now hold 100+ and phones can now “facetime” people from the other end of the globe and show in time movements. Technology is always growing even when we the buyers dont see it because the producers are always looking for innovative ways to improve their product and make it easier/lighter and better looking.

Even the way we play games has changed. we were so used to controllers that when the wii was released it was such a big thing being able to move around and have the game know you movements and even parts of that have evolved into VR which is probably the biggest thing around right now but very expensive. Full body VR is the future of gaming where the game knows every single body movement you do and does the same in game which is incredible and is only going to get better with time so the future is exciting to see where we will be in 10+ years time.

Annotation 2020-02-12 095651.png

This image is screenshotted from a website online which goes through gaming over the years and even goes as far back as to when the first ever board game was found back in Egypt all the way in 3500BC. That goes to show how much time has been invested into board games and console games throughout time.

“From 2016 to now, the global mobile app gaming market grew more than any other gaming type with an expected value of $72.3 billion in 20201. Mobiles and tablets have influenced the structure of many industries, from retail to hospitality, and gaming technology is no different. 50% of gaming will be conducted on mobile and tablet devices1, but with so many people able to play from the comfort of their own home, how do businesses provide such a core, and profitable, form of entertainment?”

This is a paragraph i took from the website because i thought it was kind of interesting. This shows that people want games to play on the move or anytime they want because now a days everyone has a smartphone that can have apps and games downloaded onto it and who doesnt have even 1 game on there phone? Games in this day and age are so big and easily recognised. Some big triple A games have even been so big in the community that producers thought that making films of the games was a good idea. Examples of this are – Tomb Raiders, Assassins creed, Sonic and many many more some a lot worse than others but never the less they were big films even when being advertised and proves that games a so big right now that there is endless amounts of money to be made in the industry for people with creative and different ideas.

Unit 11 – Task 2 Promotion and presentation skills — January 23, 2020

Unit 11 – Task 2 Promotion and presentation skills

Good ways to promote yourself are being yourself and proving you are exactly what they are looking for in the job. Being confident and you are also able to prove your skills as well as your social skills through a portfolio or client responses if you are self employed or free lancing where you would also grow a client base for little or big jobs depending on the needs for the project. Below I have linked my Artstation which is a site for creating projects which could be anything digital and you post your work to gain followers and likes which should usually come with reviews which is always beneficial to see what other designers think about your work and how else you could have gone about it. Also on Artstation you can browse millions of other designers work who could be working on triple A titles or people like me who are still learning and developing their skills. Other ways of promoting myself are websites like fiver where you charge a certain price and show you skills and people may stumble on your account and like what they see and may also have a use for your style of work which they would then contact you with their idea and you give them a price and a deadline in which you produce the work for the client to their standards. This should also start giving your work some traction because it gives you more work to add to a portfolio and present to a company when you are ready to apply to a job. For me I will most likely use Artstation for free lancing because it gives me a lot more chance of getting reviews and followers because fiver can be almost anything but Artstation is just media products which is more beneficial for me.

The other good thing about Artstation is they have competitions where they give everyone a theme and setting and everyone competing will make something from the description given and they all get posted to the site where everyone can view and vote for the best ones which should get you noticed by a lot more people. The only bad thing about this is there are thousands of people with so many years more experience than me and already a growing fan base but is defiantly something I will attempt in my spare time to increase my skills away from college. You could even get noticed by game producers looking for designers from the competitions but obviously very rare and unlikely but the chance is always there to beneficed by someone important.

Unit 11 – Task 1 Report — January 9, 2020

Unit 11 – Task 1 Report

My current skills are mostly in photoshop, after effects and illustrator as I have been using these for a year or two now. Animation is also another one of my skills because I have made a few now in different styles and know which ones I find easier and more entertaining, I feel comfortable coming up with an idea and going with it with the proper planning and creating in most styles.  I have a slight understanding in cinema 4D but still struggle a lot. The areas I could improve in are cinema 4D and possibly unity because I haven’t really used these 2 softwares to for a long enough time to learn much. I still also have a lot to learn in photoshop, after effects and illustrator because there is so much to learn but they are definitely the areas I feel strongest to make a project. I am also going to begin using Indesign because I have never used it and it is. very good software to learn  and get used to.

My ambition is to become a animator of films or games or a graphic designer or either because them genres are what I have most knowledge in and I tend to enjoy it a lot more than some other projects. Most of my skills are in these areas as well because it is what I have also been practicing and getting better and I could see myself improving and growing as a designer.

Screen Shot 2020-01-10 at 13.12.36.png

I found this apprenticeship online and it is something close to what I am looking for after  this year. The essential skills they ask for I am pretty comfortable with such as using the Adobe suite but others I could learn or have some more practice with such as Digital photography.  They also ask for 1 year expierence in graphic design and marketing experience is preferred but not essential. this is good because I now have at least a year experience in graphic design from my course and could go on to learn the marketing techniques with the company.

The requirements I need:

  • Experience in Adobe suite
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Experience in design for both print and online media
  • understanding of e-commerce and B2B marketing
  • (Preferred) Digital photography
  • (Preferred) Experience in planning and designing email marketing campaigns

Screen Shot 2020-01-16 at 10.57.34.png

Personal Development plan identifying goals – My goal is to become qualified and learn in different media industries preferably films or games doing animation or graphic design for the projects because I find these the most fun and most of my main skills are in these areas already so further practicing these skills will help me get to where I want to be. I do not want to go to uni for family reasons so my plan at the moment is to look for apprenticeships, work experience or as a last resort free lance work as that is very hard to grow in and I would only be doing that in my free time to create a portfolio and possibly get some critiques and ideas for my work. I am open to try other media projects as long as it benefits my skills to help me get to where I want to go in the future so maybe  doing little work for minor companies first to get small jobs that I can boost my reputation and references when looking for a job.

2 Universitys – I am not planning on going to a university any time soon for family reasons but if I was to go these are the main 2 I would choose. These are very similar courses both being animation but  bournemouth is art and design swell as animation. The both have almost the same entry levels and requirements which I should be able to fulfil if I wanted to go to a uni.

Screen Shot 2020-01-23 at 10.49.14.pngScreen Shot 2020-01-23 at 10.45.01.png

2 Work experience – Work experience is something I am looking at going into after I have finished this course. These are 2 placements that I found both being a graphic designer because there was almost no animation ones. Graphic design is a good thing for me to go into as it will increase my design and creativity fort my next job in my career. These are both good options to take because it is experience in the field and something else to add to my portfolio.

Screen Shot 2020-01-23 at 10.55.50.png

Screen Shot 2020-01-23 at 11.02.13.png

1 Apprenticeships / 1 Internship – These are other options I am considering for after this course. The internship is a part time graphic design job which like the work experience will just give me practice for the future for when I find a full time job in the future. The other apprentiship requires no expierence and set up in London on almost £30,000   which is very good for a starter permanent job.Screen Shot 2020-01-23 at 11.13.27.png

Screen Shot 2020-01-23 at 11.14.32.png

Freelance work – This is something I am defiantly planning on doing on the side of work. I will just make little projects for myself and create assets and designs that interest me and post them on art station or fiver to receive criticism and reviews and hopefully build my creative processes and design techniques for the future.

These are all simple prototypes of designs that if I was creating for an FMP would be further developed and made into good looking assets for a final piece.

Screen Shot 2020-02-06 at 14.52.03.png

This is a 3D model of a needle for my operation idea. it is only a quick 5 minute model of a rough idea but gets the point across with the need of texture wrap-gin just yet.Screen Shot 2020-02-06 at 15.15.37.png

This is another quick design of scissors that I would develop and texture properly so that it would be ready to be put into a game to test out.

operationmoodboard2operationmoodboard1moodboard3

I chose to keep the same mood boards from my research and first initial ideas for this game because I don’t feel like they need to be changed due to the colour scheme being almost defiantly what I feel would work best for the type of game I would be creating. Also the images of the game Operation and Surgeon simulator are important because there are not many different surgery games so these two were my best option to work from and get inspiration from. The second image of real life surgeries and the work place is also the same because I am basing it off of UK hospitals and so the scenery and images in the mood board are exactly what I would want to be working from and getting inspiration from.

Unit 12 – Part 2 – Choosing Your Focus — November 15, 2019

Unit 12 – Part 2 – Choosing Your Focus

Interactive Design and Technology in media – The focus of my research is to compare interactive design and technology in media and look at how the industry and tech has grown from what it was to what it has become today. This should lead me onto more advanced technology and see what things we are so close to that could possibly change the way we live our lives or some do there jobs. I think that all the new advanced tech that the industry are getting such as advanced motion tracking as well as cameras that can scan someone and replicate them perfectly in a virtual reality world are very beneficial if used in a respectable way like making movies or games better but this type of equipment could be dangerous if the wrong people used it by possibly faking identities or doing illegal actions and framing others with “video evidence” that has been forged and manipulated. I already have little faith in some content i see online because fake or misinterpreted videos have been around for years but some are easier to tell apart from others.

There is a funny video someone has made on youtube and they have filmed themselves looking like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg having a debate on who is cooler and it looks pretty realistic but obviously he he is making a massive joke out of the situation and almost mocking the two. But if someone was to commit a crime and then forge the CCTV footage and make it look like someone else then this may become an issue if every person is allowed to use it. You would no longer be able to trust what videos or pictures are real because everyone would so good at creating fake imagery.

Im almost certain that looking deeper into the video and how it was created will help me find what peoples reactions are to this and how advanced it is getting.  I also hope to find out if some movies or games are going to take advantage of this technology and see if its beneficial to the industry and how it could improve depth of the product and have people mesmerised at what they are looking at.

I am planning on doing research online and through books or magazines related to the topic if I can find some. I will do 50/50 so the first half of my research will be though online sources and the other half will be books. Books and magazines are more reliable sources most of the time because they have to be confirmed from the publisher and its a lot harder to fake information and get away with it. Where as online it doesn’t really get checked as anyone can post anything for anyone to find and look at if they wanted to. This means a lot of misjudged or wrong information is often put out like wikipedia where anyone can edit the posts so that is never a very reliable source to go off.

Unit 12: PART ONE – Critical Frameworks — November 14, 2019

Unit 12: PART ONE – Critical Frameworks

  1. What is Genre? – Genre is the many types of style and categories for films and games, whether a film has monsters or it is set in the real world and everything Is normal, genre is the way you separate films and games to what style of product you are making or aiming at an audience. Most films and games are either action/adventure, horror, sci-fi, chic Flik  but then the style can be different meaning how its made or edited. There are many styles of films and games for example: animation (and the different types of animation, stop motion, cel shaded, 3D) , CGI, linear/non-linear narrative. I find this aspect of media a little bit interesting because each genre has there own perks and abilities to be a great product and it can extend already good ideas to make them better.
  2. What is Narrative? –  Narrative is the story within a film or game. The narrative is one of the most important things within a game or film product, it has to sound good enough to grasp the attention of the target audience but then has to be entertaining and keep the audience wanting more and making the audience relate or understand the characters and whats going on. The narrative can either make or break the film, there are films that look amazing with great actors but there story just isn’t immersive and doesn’t play out as well as it sounds but then on the other hand there is films with a great story but the actors or the film directing/editing let it down and ruined the project. I find the narrative very fun to either create or just read/watch and getting hooked on the story and the characters, thats when a film/game gets so much attention because the audience care about the characters and whats going on and they get an emotional connection to that character.
  3. What is Representation? – Representation is a big thing in media due to older generation of games having almost every female character wearing very little clothing which kicked off a big spark in the industry from feminist groups and equal rights people so this has changed drastically but some notorious character still possess the body showing outfits in games like tomb raider (Lara Croft) and most fighting games (Mortal Kombat, Dead or Alive, Tekken). Obviously a game company getting lots of bad ratings and loads of people complaining about the game and attracting a lot of bad publicity causes developers to adjust the game so they don’t have a bad representation within the growing industry. Im not to fond on the representation side of things as it kind of knocks out a bit of the creative side of products when you have to worry about who and why it will offend people even when its not offensive like history or real life acts that people will then complain about.
  4. What is Audience? – Audience is one of the most important things in films and games because with out an audience your product isn’t going to grow or get and turbulence when no one even knows it exist or is seen by 2 people across the whole world. Trying to create a film or game that pleases everybody is impossible because everyone is going to have there own little spin on it and compare it to other media products which is the difficult part because you have to aim at a wide audience and try to please as many people as possible to keep your game alive and create a fanbase that are dedicated to your company work.  Working with audience is a tough part of the industry and involves so much underlying problems with the current generation of people.
  5. What is Regulation? – Regulation is “a rule or directive made by an authority” meaning there are certain limitations on content that a studio developer/director can make . This is mostly showed in extremely violent or scary films or too intensely graphic games that for obvious reasons get pulled as they are argued that they are not healthy for the players to be playing games or the veiwer to be watching them types of films because the content can damage the audience and ‘create bad people’. These are put in place for good reason as I believe there should be a line as obviously all most everything can be recovered from the internet somewhere and children will find a way to get hold of it and it could cause a lot of backlash on the studios and cause a lot of money loss. There are other ways to get the point across that just using violence all the time which could ruin the narrative of a good story.
  6. What is Technology? – Technology is the tech equipment involved in the production process. It has become a massive part of the media industry as tech is forever getting better and increasing in quality and this will only benefit the industry. Throughout the years technology has evolved as we have and knowledge of some equipment has grown therefor improving quality of products being produced. Learning about all the tech is there hardest part because of all the equipment you need to understand. I find the technology side of things quite interesting and fun once I get the hang of it but knowing how things works in depth is a good skill to have and it can benefit you in many ways during the production process.
  7.  What is Production/Distribution/Exhibition?  –  Production is the process in which you create the product that you are working on. Making a big triple A film or game will take many people all working on the project during the production process to create the masterpiece at the end. Distribution is the act of promoting the product to the target audience and getting people attracted to your project and hopefully get some feedback. Exhibition is the first screening to the public or film reviewers critiquing the film, this is probably the most intense part of the process because it could go one of two ways and if it turns out no one likes the project then that is however many months/years spent making it for basically nothing other than learning to never do that again. My favourite process out of these is the production process because it involves all the creating and designing involved.
  8. What is marketing and promoting? – Marketing and promoting is as it reads, putting your product out there to the world by often teaser trailers on video sites such as youtube or maybe even tv adds depending on who the target audience is for  and who they are trying to grab with the product. This is a very important part of creating a good piece because without the proper marketing and hyping up the right audience no one will know about your ‘amazing’ product and it will not gain as much sales as you may have hoped. I think marketing can be fun if you add a twist to it like slowly leaking little secrets that get then hyped building up then dropping good trailers that gain the attention of a bigger audience because everyone starts talking about it which means even before you launch the product you already have an audience willing too buy/try out or even further promote it.
Unit 9&10 – Task 3 : Interpretation of research to develop ideas — October 17, 2019

Unit 9&10 – Task 3 : Interpretation of research to develop ideas

operationmoodboard1.png

I was looking at some images of real surgery and operations to get an idea of some tools and instrument used in the workplace. This did help me a lot finding out the rooms and tools that they use. This also helped give me my ideas for my colour pallet.

operationmoodboard2.png

These are examples of operation games and animations. Surprisingly I only found these 2 main games during my research, others were bad doctor games with terrible graphics and not very stable gameplay as they were free online games so I chose to not take from that because it didn’t really have anything that these games didn’t and was just a whole lot worse all together. You’ll first notice surgeon simulator as the main images on there as there was not much options to choose from and I was struggling to locate other sources. I tried to diverse as much as possible by grabbing different images to get as much information and ideas as possible. The original operation board game is also another inspiration with its simple but great and fun idea of carefully pulling funny and bizarre things from the patients body. Some similarities are the colour scheme being bright vibrant colours to obviously target children. Surgeon simulator is the most recent operation/surgery game arriving in 2013, for a game created that long ago the graphics look amazing and the gameplay is great and hilarious especially in the vr version because the controls make the game so much better due to the funny gags and glitches that occur.

moodboard3.png

These are a few colour shades I may likely use for my project, I chose these colours as I’m sticking to the cartoony and bright look to keep the appeal of kids and teens The will not be squeaky clean meaning no blood as the idea is to make a some-what realistic version but with a twist to make it more fun and entertaining so thats also why I feel like going for a cartoon look will help that as you can exaggerate some things and give the game some depth These will not be the only colours but will be the most dominant during the gameplay.

Unit 9&10 – Task 1: Identify and analyse existing media production activites – Task 2: Identify the audience

Screen Shot 2019-10-04 at 09.13.01.png

Unfortunately I cannot access the actual website for the game because it is blocked.

Surgeon simulator as explained in the text is a funny turn on a game and very unrealistic  with hours of fun. no right or wrong way to do things s you can use tools such as axe’s, drills and big knifes etc. The textures are great as you begin in an office with various props that you can play with whilst you wait for the intermission to begin, the style is like a cartoon as it is quite bright colours and everything looks smooth and clean. Also just like in cartoons, this is very over exaggerated with blood and the things you use during the game. You then select your patient then you go to your operation room where you have your patient lying in-front of you with all of your tools and necessary equipment for the procedure. The heart rate monitoring will start beeping when your patient looses to much blood and if you don’t complete the operation in time then the patient will die and you must restart.

The audio is great with nice elevator like music at the start in the office with phones ringing then when you get into the operation room its mostly quiet until the heart rate meter begins beeping then intense music kicks in as its life or death which then puts the player under pressure. The whole game is interactive as its in VR but you can even play with objects in the office and almost anything you can grab ad throw and mess around with if your not taking the game seriously and just want to have fun. (Like most youtube that have played this)

The ethics and culture are modern doctors surgery. The could in a way be controversial and offensive towards doctors if they didn’t have a sense of humour or haven’t played it yet. Just like in this video I discovered on youtube a real surgeon in America plays the game and tries to complete it as realistic as he could. This game could be developed in the future to teach students on medial course how to do operations/surgery before they are ready to try on real people. You could just make it more realistic and less exaggerated and use the proper tools to demonstrate hw=ow it would actually go in real life.Screen Shot 2019-10-04 at 09.23.07.png

Target Audience: The age of the target audience is most likely 12-18+ because of the blood and nature of the game (opening them up and cutting different organs to replace the objective) its probably a bit to much and not suitable for anyone under the age of 10. The gender aimed at is both as there is no indication or effect on the game whether you are a boy or a girl and everything is the same so they kept it very gender neutral. Their job would probably be something within the working class group maybe a store assistant   or something simple as they are most likely still students in education with a normal part time job. Hobbies may include sports and other activites but the biggest hobbit will most probably be gaming. Disposable income may not be a lot as most the people playing the game/target audience are most likely students with a minimum wage part time job. Interest may include surgery, doctors and medial things or maybe they just enjoy playing games in VR and find something different. Geographical locations are most likely standard working class houses in towns and cities dotted about the world with reasonable amount of money to afford a console and games. Linked products are such things like Operation or other games based on hospitals, doctors, surgeries or just anything related to medical procedures. The target audiences opinions on the game must be good for them to have watched gameplay and the purchased the game, the game had a lot of help from youtubers who would play the game for hours which is then promoting the game to all of their followers/subscribers. The game from what I know has not received any majorly negative feedback in results to offensive content and has taken next to no backlash for the way the game has been c created and how it actually plays out within the game.

Operation – The classic family board game created in 1965 is fun game where you place little props into the holes of the patient then very carefully take them out one at a time without touching the edges otherwise it will buzz and you lose a point. The game comes with small metal tweezers the you use to grab each item. The aim of the game is to get the most items with the least buzzes. The buzzer is there to put the players off as this game is all about concentration and having a steady hand but when your playing with your friends/family and they’re all getting pieces and not hitting the edges and you keep shaking and getting under pressure and touching the edges it adds a bit of depth to the game and could turns bit competitive like a few family games. Having s buzzer keep going doesn’t exactly help the fact that your panicking in a game and doesn’t make things any easier for the player which is what it wants, the game was intended to get people on the edge of their seats and getting them concentrating so hard that they start sweating.

There isn’t really much of a narrative in this game as it is a family board game to just help the patient. The games only response/audio is the buzzer when you touch the edges. The art style on the box is very cartoony as this game was meant for kids years ago to play with there family. The culture is working class families, back In the day I think most families would have had this somewhere in their house or owned it. There is not really any ethics in this game or social issues either as the main interaction is yourself collecting things from a game with tweezers.

The game is not serious at all which is great as it delivers to kids a lot more with the jokey, comic style and red buzzer nose that flashes red when you touch the edge. As the game came out near the time of the World War they ended something to keep children entertained and take their minds of everything thats going on.

Target Audience: The Target audience for this game is 3-10 because it has lots of little pieces that young unsupervised children could potentially swallow and choke on. The targeted gender is both as again there is no indication or effect on the game and shows no information on being intended for girls or boys as the game board is neutral colours and is not byast at all. This is more likely a game that parents would have bought their children so the children would not have had a job to pay for it themselves the parents would probably have full time jobs to get a family game that everyone can play. The target audiences opinion on the game would have been great as when this game was released it was a massive hit and families everywhere wanted to get it and play it. Hobbies may have included other board games and table top games or even interest with doctors and medical surgeries which would have maybe got them more interested in perusing a career in surgeries/hospitals. Disposable income would not have been a lot because when it was made in 1964 less money then would be a lot in todays day and age. Interests I think would be the same as hobbies as back when this game was invented there was not a lot you could do other than play with your friends and family doing different games and activities. Geographical locations would have been in ordinary towns and some cities where the game was being promoted and was intended for most working class families with enough money to spend a little on a board game probably for Christmas or birthdays. Linked products would be other board games that the creator Join Spinello would have taken for inspiration or just doctor equipment like the small tweezers the game comes with. Most surgery games where released after operation such as surgeon simulator and other simulators. Screen Shot 2019-10-11 at 09.26.37.png

image.png Doctor strange is a superhero character from marvel. He is an actual doctor as shown in this opening clip from the movie but then gets his powers from living with monks and learning a secret fighting style and learns about the magic of the infinity stones. The art style is real life as the film is played out by real actors but there is still slight animation in this film when he uses his powers like the green shield or orange plates that he uses as his weapons or the insanely edited part of the film where the city starts folding in on itself and looks crazy. There is no gameplay or responsiveness because it is a movie so its very linear. The colours are mostly bright and the film stays out of the dark for the most part.

The music in the film is calming as its mainly when its gaining suspense for the next scene or whats happening next.  Just before the clip I linked in you see Doctor strange washing his hands just like doctors do I real life and preparing his tools and getting ready for his surgery he is about to perform. Most of the voices in the film are big actors and recognised easily in Hollywood and such areas. Accessibility is like every other film, either buy it or pirate it off the internet or if you was lucky enough to see it at cinemas.

This film has got a few different cultures in the film but the most relevant one is the monks that he goes to live with and train with. Its a fictional clan so it wouldn’t cause any  grief/controversy. There is also no ethical or social issues as this film is very modern and Marvel studios obviously avoided causing and backlash to the studio. No religions or politics are mentioned and only historical events within the MCU are mentioned such as previous films that are relevant to the storyline.

Target Audience: The film is rated 12A by the BBFC which means that the film is suitable for 12+ with parent permission. Like the other Media resources I have looked at it is intended for both sex as there are is different sex within the film (not all boys or girls) including aliens and both genders can appeal to superheroes and have interest. Jobs may very well vary throughout because this is a triple A film made in 2016 to extend the MCU in time for their big finale, most people may have seen it in cinemas if they have enough money but a lot of people would have waited for it to be on TV or movie channels or even streaming sites. Some doctors may have even gone to watch it just to compare the characters understanding on the doctors surgery because towards the start of the film before doctor strange becomes the weapon he is, he starts of as a normal surgeon preparing to do his work by washing his hands and organising his tools etc. I found one video on youtube of an actual surgeon reacting to the scene to compare how realistic they made it.  The target audiences opinions on the film where probably good before they saw the movie as its another greatly anticipated movie from marvel preparing everyone for the great final that broke box office records. This film even got some incredibly reviews from IMDB and rotten tomato which is not a surprise considering the rest of the MCU films. Hobbies for people watching this may include other superhero interests. Disposable income will be a bit more than the other 2 sources I looked at as this is a worldwide known film and was shown almost everywhere. Linked products would include other superhero films, toys or games. Superheroes are becoming much bigger than before with the technology we have to portray them in the way the creators would like and show of their awesome skills.

creating a media based solution to a problem

Problem: Victoria skatepark is a very old park and has a lot of outdated apperatus starting to break and rust. It is a well known park in the area and not just for the skatepark but for the kids play park and the big pond surrounded by benches as a seating area from anyone. Considering the park is not run by anyone and cost nothing to use its not getting the attention it deserves and being destroyed by kids not even using it to ride or drunks leaving smashed bottles everywhere. The council have not touched the park since it being built and its down to the locals to keep the area tidy and in shape.

Solution: Promote the park by hosting competitions and posting it all over social media so more people will come down from other towns and compete which will get the park noticed by more people and hopefully the council will realise that the skatepark is a place for kids to stay out of trouble and do physical activities. We could even have a donation goal or a little fee for the skaters/riders to compete and raise a bit of money to start it off and push the council to refurbish the skatepark and keep people interested in going there. It could even bring sales to nearby shops and therefor getting the town more noticed as we are very lucky to have 2 skateparks very close to the beach and it would be a shame to see it disappear in the future. We could even try and contact some sponsors/skating companies to come and promote the competitions and maybe even sponsor some riders that could change there life and maybe even have some locals in the next skateboarding olympics.

Target audience: mainly aimed people who skate or ride bmx and scooters at 12-22 years off age but also needs to keep adults interested as they will most likely be taking there children if they are not from Paignton.

hollywoodSkatePark.jpg  The reason skateboarding is so much bigger in America and other countries is because they have parks like this one and they are often looked after. Where as parks in the UK are generally just built and then left alone to decay.

Unknown.jpg This is Victoria skatepark in Paignton and you can easily see the difference between the 2 parks. Considering skateboarding is now in the olympics I feel like we should take more care of these areas to keep future generations of kids coming here and its also a place where kids can find new hobbies and stay out of trouble on the streets.
